Travel Insurance is an insurance that is intended to cover medical expenses, lost luggage, flight accident and other losses incurred while traveling, either internationally or within your own country.

➡ What is the validity period for Travel Insurance?

Travel Insurance is valid between the beginning and ending date of policy which is considered by the customer.

➡ I took out my policy online. However, my date of travel is changed. What happens to my policy under these circumstances?

If you inform us before the starting date of your policy, then we can change the time interval of your policy. However, if your policy has already started, there is no possibility for changing your policy.

➡ My study in Turkey will be shorter than one year. In this case, when I am going back, will I be able to take back the amount that is left (e.g. 3 months left)?  

When you leave Turkey (because the school ends), or with your school graduation paper and with the copy of your airway return ticket to your country, we can cancel the time period non used of the policy and reimburse back.

Attached is your Health Insurance Policy in PDF format.
When you will arrive to Turkiye, please send us the the disclosure document duly signed and the receipt of the policy dully signed . It is needed in case you have to use the policy (We are in Turkey to serv you when needed,.but hopefully newer for an accident J )

➡ I’ve got my Residence Permit Insurance for International Students policy and the disclosure document in PDF Format. When will I get the original one?

When you will arrive to Türkiye, you have to send us by post express, the disclosure document duly signed and the receipt of the policy to. When we will receive them , your policy will be operational immediately.

➡ When I filled in the Travel Health Insurance Application form, I saw that I had to write about my past injury: What if this injury repeats itself?

Because it is a past one (before you bougth the insurance policy), this illness you declare will be excluded from the policy coverage, if you will have the same illness or equivalent of it in the policy period.

➡ What are the documents that need to be submitted in case of accident or disease?

Insured person or policy owner is supposed to submit original hospital, medicine and medical examination documents or certifed copy of these documents, and also treatment forms by the doctor or hospital that provided the treatment.

➡ I am going to study abroad in a language school for 4 months. Is it valid for me to take out a 4 months International Travel Insurance (Schengen Visa Insurance)?

No. Schengen Visa Insurance will not be valid after 90 days because of the regulations on Travel Health Insurance. You need to take a Residence Permit Insurance for International Students.

➡ Is foreign language support included in Residence Permit Health Insurance?

You can submit your policy with proof of payment, that you can get from our web site, to the consulate. You can also do the same by controlling your policy’s validity in www.sbm.org.tr (Health / Travel Health Policy Inquiry) with your ID and your policy number and print the confirmation of the validity of your policy.
