TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR FOREIGNERS (LARGE)
1) Medical Treatment due to injury or illness
If the insured suffers from any sudden illness or injury under this policy, April Turkey, on the behalf of HDI, shall indemnify for the hospital, operation and treatment expenses as well as the expenses of medicine given by the concerned physician within the limits of the policy. The medicines prescribed to be used after discharge are out of coverage. Pre-existing and chronic illnesses are out of scope of this coverage.
2) Medical Transportation or Repatriation of the Insured due to injury or illness
If the insured suffers from any sudden sickness or injury under this policy; April Turkey shall ensure transportation of the insured to the nearest healthcare centre and/or institution. By the vehicle of transportation which is most appropriate for the medical condition of the insured. If there is no necessary equipment and medical staff for the treatment of patient in the existing healthcare centre and/or establishment, the company shall be obliged to ensure transportation of the insured to another healthcare centre and/or establishment that is suitable for the medical condition of the insured. It’s essential that the medical report is provided by the practising doctor for medical transfers. Only April Turkey’s doctor can decide for the air ambulance. Air ambulance service is not covered in the non-European countries.
In case of the insured’s discharge, once the treatment due to serious illness or serious injury under the scope of mentioned policy is completed and the APRIL doctor decides that the insured will not be able to go on his/her travel and will not be able to use the transportation vehicle aimed for his/her original travel, the Company will cover necessary expenses for transportation or repatriation of insured to his/her permanent residence. It is obligatory to get the medical report indicating the patient’s transportation conditions.
3) Repatriation of the funeral
In case of the insured’s death due to sudden illness or injury within this policy, April Turkey will organize the transportation of corpse to its permanant residence. Funeral ceremony and burial expenses are out of scope of coverage.
4) Organization of medicine delivery
APRIL organises delivery of medicines which are urgently prescribed by practising doctor, but cannot be acquired in the location where the insured is. While medicine costs should be covered by insured, the delivery costs on the behalf of HDI should be covered by APRIL
5) Urgent messages delivery
April Turkey will provide conveying urgent or necessary messages concerning the subjects in all above articles upon the request of insured
6) Medical consultancy/ Medical information / Organization
April Turkey gives information for medical problems which the insured faces. All the expenses concerning this coverage will be covered by the Insured.
7) Accomodation due to illness or injury
Accomodation expenses abroad in case of injury or illness of the insured. This coverage is valid if the insured has illness/injury mentioned as valid in the policy and if the insured’s accommodation abroad has to be extended for this reason. This circumstance will need to be documented by physician, on the behalf of HDI, APRIL is obliged to cover the hotel and other accommodation costs (Standart room+breakfast). The organization will be held by APRIL.
8) Travel expenses of the family members of the insured
Transportation expenses of a family member, in case of illness/injury of the insured. This coverage is valid and Economy Class flights for one family member’s travel cost being covered on behalf of HDI by APRIL, if the insured has to be hospitalised for more than 5 days. The organization will be held by APRIL.
9) Accommodation of a family member of the insured
Accommodation expenses of a family member, in case of illness/injury of the insured. This coverage is valid and limited with maximum stay up to 4 days for one family member’s accommodation cost being covered on the behalf of HDI by APRIL, if the insured has to be hospitalised for more than 5 days. The organization will be held by APRIL.
10) Return to the residence due to death of a family member
APRİL organises the repatriation of the insured in case of interrupting the trip due to death of a family member (wife, husband, children, siblings). Death documentations have to be presented. This service is possible only if the insured cannot use the transportation vehicle that was aimed for the main journey.
11) Repatriation expenses of the insured due to damage at insured’s residency
In case of robbery, fire or explosion at insured’s house and if these reasons make the house useless and insured should be at home to handle these situations, HDI Insurance covers the expenses of repatriation of the insured. Official documentations concerning the damage, such as police report or insurance company’s report should be presented to APRIL.
This service is possible only if the insured cannot use the transportation vehicle that was aimed for the main journey.
12) Lost, stolen or damaged luggage
If the Insured Person’s luggage is lost, damaged or if the Insured Person’s accompanied checked-in luggage is not delivered to him or her within minimum 21 days after Insured Person’s arrival at the scheduled destination point of his or her flight, such luggage will be assumed to be permanently lost and the Company will indemnify the Insured Person for charges up to limit.
The coverage that is paid by the company will be accounted after the total damage cost stated by the insured, excluding the coverage that is paid by the airline company.
The Insured has to inform APRIL about the list of the items in the luggage, approximately cost and the purchase dates of the items, and the coverage document provided by the airline company. The coverage doesn’t include the money, jewellery, credit cards or any other documents.
13) Delayed luggage
In case of lost luggage on scheduled flight, and inability to find it within 24 hours since the arrival time, the insurance company will make a payment within the limit for emergency demands. For this service, insured has to get a loss report from airline company and send this report and the bills of emergency expenses to APRIL.
14) Giving Bail
In order to guarantee the legal expenses of criminal action of the insured, April will make the payment of bail to concerning authorities within the coverage zones. Before making this payment, a person who represents the insured has to pay this amount to APRİL or guarantee the payment with a legal document. The limit of this benefit is mentioned in the policy (as debt).
Within this coverage, insured is obliged to refund the payment within 15 days.
SPECIAL NOTES
- Countries involved in war are outside the scope of coverage, even if they are not specified in policy.
- International Travel policies are valid for the subsequent 92 days once the travel starts. Even if a new policy is arranged, for travels exceeding subsequent 92 days without entry to Turkish Republic borders, all coverages will be invalid and this duration cannot be extended. New policy(ies) arranged in this way.
